Day Thirty Two

Funchal, Madeira today, after breakfast, six of us, that's Jen, John, Hazel, Peter, Sheila and myself decided to get off at 8.30 and take the free shuttle bus into town. We then got the City Sight Seeing opentop bus to get a good look at Funchal and the surrounding area the most interesting part of the trip besides the lovely views, was the fishing village of Camara de Lobos where Winston Churchill went to paint. We also saw the famous Reid's Hotel where he apparantly stayed and which does tradittional afternoon teas that are supposed to be good, but very expensive. In the evening Sheila and I went to see Ed "Stewpot" Stewart, his talk was interesting and full of nostalgic tv clips from yester year. He also did a "yes no" competition which I and three other people took part in, I think I may have set a worlds record, because I lasted less than 1 second and was out on the very first question. But it was a laugh which was the main thing.....
