Day Seventeen

In Limon today, weather overcast but bloody warm...sounds like I'm moaning lol but I'm not. It was so humid at the Panama Canal yesterday and it feels like it's going to be the same today...... We're off exploring what I thought in my complete ignorance was an island. I now find Limon is a town in Costa Rica. We're going with four of the friends we've made, thats Jennifer and John who I've mentioned before and the couple they are travelling with, Hazel and Peter, who are also a brilliant couple. I just love peters accent he's got to be the poshest sounding person I've met...lol. Anyway off for breakfast.... I'll keep you informed of events today... Instead of the usual steel band on the quayside, today we have a band playing wooden zylophone type instruments. I'm not sure if they are peculular to Costa Rica, but they do sound very unusual. Maybe they are decended from instruments the Caribbe Indians used to play, it's just a thought but I'll try and find out..... Didn't find out about the wooden instrument, but did have a brilliant trip in a small bus. There ended up with 17 of us going, the guide was amazing we stopped lots of times to see various animals, among them were howler monkeys, sloths both 3 and 2 toed varieties, various birds and he explained the various trees such as cashew nut, bread fruit etc. Then he took us for a boat ride were we saw more animals and birds. Then we were taken to the obligatory gift shop and bar, we had local beer and some of us were courageous enough to try the food. All in all a wonderful day and only $20 each.....
