Up early again today, needed some washing done and wanted to beat the crowds at the launderette......thats one of the big plus points on P&O ships, the free launderette, all you pay for is the washing powder, machines and dryers are free, which is very helpful on longer cruises like this.....anyway must get on as my washing calls and I don't want to cause a riot with the people waiting to use the machines.. which has happened with some passengers, almost full scale fights over washers and dryers....I kid you not...LOL.
Sea day today, so probably wont have much to report.....we'll sea how it goes. W
ent to the individual quiz in Tiffany Court this mourning and now wish I hadn't. T
he young girl who did it Laura Jane was in a foul mood, when any of us taking part tried our usual friendly banter, she would be very off with us. A
nyway as it turned out I won the quiz and when I went up to pick up the prize, I asked her if everything was ok? S
he turned on me and started saying things like you'll go to far and say things to the wrong person one day.
can honestly say hand on heart that I or anyone else at the quiz said nanything out of order and definately nothing offensive to her during the quiz.
And these comments hurt.
As she passed the other Dave on our table, he, not having heard what she said to me, asked her if she was ok, to him she replied “oh I'm just having an off day” aparently it turned out she had had a row with her boyfrient.
Anyway the up shot was one of the other entertainment staff, Anthony, later on asked me why I was so quiet. And so I told him, I know it may seem like talking out of school as they say, but her comments really hurt, and I definately didn't deserve them.
The upshot was later that morning Dave and I were chatting on deck 7 when Laura Jane came up and hugged Dave and said sorry she was a bit off but she'd had a row with her boyfriend and she was fine now, but she said not one word to me, which hurt me again. I know I probably sound like an old woman complaining, but she was one of the entertainment staff I'd immediately taken to when we came on board, because quite honestly, from the cruise director John Bartram down, most of them, not all but most of them need a personality transplant and that is truely NOT sour grapes.
On a lighter note the women won todays Battle of the Sexes so its 5 games each.....the tension is building...god I'm sad..... LOL
